HEALING WITH ASTROLOGY

ZODIAC HEALTH EXPLAINED

Humans have gazed upon the Sun and the stars since time immemorial. Ancient tribes and wise men had learned to respect the universe, read the stars and constellations, and be guided by them.

Ancient astronomers knew that the Sun, the Moon, the planets and the constellations had an affect on events, the weather and our health. Since our bodies are made up of the same chemicals and substances as the Sun and the stars - you could say we are in fact just like 'stardust'.

The Sun has the largest effect on us being highly magnetic (we have iron in our blood) and we would not survive without its warmth and light too.

Secondly the Moon has the most obvious effect on us; our hormones are affected in moon cycles, the tides of the sea rise and fall, and at full moon people can go a bit crazy (they went loony; luna is another name for the moon) and had a lunar-tic/lunatic; a bout of madness as the moon draws up water towards the head and exerts pressure on the brain.

There is a delicate balance between the path of the planets in our solar system - they all affect another because of the magneticism. So if the Sun and Moon affects us, why would the other planets therefore not affect us, since we are made up of the same building blocks of life.

The pull of the Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Pluto and Chiron, and Earth of course - think about gravity.

Events in our lives often come in cycles. You have heard of 7 year cycles - this relates to Saturn (a fairly hard taskmaster), and doing the full round, it is called the 'Saturn Return' and takes approx 28 years. There are other cycles  too that correspond to the path of the planets.

As mentioned, the Sun has the largest effect on us. If we don't receive light, we would die. Earth would be an icy planet that could not sustain life. The Sun is at the centre of our Solar System.

If we overlay this scientific part with the mythologies and esoteric knowledge, we get to an interesting perspective; in astrology the Sun rules Leo, and Leo rules the heart. Without either we die - we can live to some extend without other organs, but not our heart. The heart is also the centre of our 7 main chakras. The heart chakra represents love, compassion, balance, calmness and serenity. It bridges the lower chakras of personal needs, with the upper chakras of universal needs, wisdom and selflessness.

And this next bit really explains why inhabiting our sun sign is important; In astrology, when we manage to embody and express the positive qualities of our sun sign/zodiac sign/star sign, we help to embody the heart centre (the Sun), through which we receive inspiration, sustenance, light and guidance from within. We then also activate the upper chakras and will feel more in tune with who we are and connected to our purpose here on earth and become a creative force.
